National Homeless Persons' Remembrance Day is commemorated each year on December 21, the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest night of the year. It’s a day to encourage the public to act on the behalf of those who lost their lives while living on the streets. of Palm Beach County.
The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, in partnership with several Palm Beach County service organizations, invites members of the community who are homeless or in crisis to attend Project Homeless Connect. They will have a chance to visit with the various agencies, shop for free clothes, receive a free haircut, and take a shower.
The Mayor’s Ball began in 2014 by then Palm Beach County Mayor Priscilla Taylor. Mayor Taylor selected the Homeless Coalition as the beneficiary of the gala to help fund the already existing Ten-Year-Plan to End Homelessness, especially the housing component.
