Veteran Journalist & Non-Profit Executive Toni May to Lead Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County

West Palm Beach, FL. – May 1, 2020 – The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County welcomes well-known Community Leader, Veteran Journalist & Non-Profit Executive Toni May as their new CEO. May’s new position began on May 1, 2020.

May brings a wide range of community involvement and leadership skills to her new position. She has spent more than three decades sharing first-hand the stories of the positive changes Palm Beach County nonprofits bring to the community. May transitioned out of journalism to be the Director of Communications for the Quantum Foundation, the largest private foundation in the county and worked for United Way and as interim Executive Director of KidSanctuary in West Palm Beach.

“Over the past few years, I have gotten to know Toni and she really has a passion for homelessness, so I couldn’t be more proud to have her join our team. I believe with Toni’s experience, she will be able to continue the positive trajectory of the Homeless Coalition.” said Sophia Eccleston, current Homeless Coalition PBC Board President.

As an entrepreneur, May helped numerous not for profit and for profit organizations create fundraising campaigns, strategic plans, re-branding and social media campaigns. Throughout her time in the community she has donated hundreds of volunteer hours to a variety of charities in the area of homelessness, fostering, environment and the arts.

“I have had a heart for our neighbors and the struggles I have seen firsthand, but homelessness has a special pull for me. As a single mom, I was often ‘one paycheck away’ of losing my home and ending up on the streets so I know this issue has no stereotype. I am proud of what the Homeless Coalition has been able to do and am happy to take it to the next level ,” said May.
