The U.S. is the richest nation in the world\, but 37 million Americans are at risk of suffering from hunger and more than 500\,000 Americans are homeless on a typical night. \nThis week is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week\, an annual opportunity to shine a spotlight on the problems of hunger and homelessness and organize our communities to take action.

SUMMARY:Senator Philip D. Lewis Center Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Make a significant impact on the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness as you “Pave the Way Home” by supporting the efforts of the Senator Philip D. Lewis Center. This event helps bring awareness of the homeless issues we face as we come together. Funds generated by the Lewis Luncheon supports programs at the Lewis Center such as “Breaking Bread\, Breaking Barriers”\, which provides nourishing meals to the current residents; and the “Creating Housing Opportunities” program\, which moves those experiencing homelessness forward toward stability and housing.
